President-elect Donald Trump has selected Rep. Tom Price to serve as Secretary for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

Price, a Georgia Republican who chairs the House Budget Committee, has previously pushed to dismantle and replace the Affordable Care Act (ACA). He also has been sharply critical of Medicare demonstrations including the bundled payment model for hip and knee replacement.

Trump also has picked a new CMS administrator — Seema Verma, the president, CEO and founder of SVC, Inc., a national health policy consulting company. Verma has experience redesigning Medicaid programs in several states.
