The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) recently updated its frequently asked questions regarding Provider Relief Funds (PRF), particularly addressing certain concerns around reimbursement requirements.

Among the updated answers are clear directions that PRF dollars must be spent no later than June 30, 2021.

If a provider has PRF money that they cannot spend on permissible expenses or losses by June 30, then providers will return the money. “HHS will provide directions in the future about how to return unused funds,” the FAQ notes.
