New Medicare card design, fact sheet released by CMS

As part of ongoing efforts to raise awareness about the upcoming change to Medicare numbers and cards, CMS has unveiled the new design as well as a print-friendly fact sheet about the cards.

The new cards will no longer include social security numbers, but instead will have Medicare Beneficiary identifiers (MBIs). CMS will start mailing new cards in April 2018. (See related article.)
