Final interpretive guidelines for the revised Home Health Conditions of Participation (CoPs) are expected to be released in about six to eight weeks, a CMS official told attendees of ElevatingHOME’s National Leadership Conference on March 9 in Washington D.C.
The official told attendees about two changes to the guidelines involving language related to comprehensive assessments [§484.55(b)(1) and §484.55(d)(1)].
During the same conference session, CMS officials said the federal Medicare agency will meet some but not all of the timelines that had been laid out for the IMPACT Act.
CMS did meet the timeline for categories related to function and pressure ulcer, a CMS official said during the conference.
In a statutory process in Fiscal Year 2020, CMS plans “to unveil our next steps” and come back “with a narrowed down set of items.”
