Admissions for both home health and hospice patients saw an increase in the first quarter of 2018, when compared with the same time in 2017, according to data and performance analytics company Excel Health.
 
Hospice patient admissions increased 3.9%, while home health patient admissions went up by 1.8%. according to Excel Health Q1 2018 post-acute care utilization and performance data released Aug. 28.
 
And the total number of Medicare beneficiaries increased 2.1%.
 
Excel Health is expected to release its full report in September.
