There was a slight uptick in the number of agencies that earned five stars in the quality of care star ratings, according to the May 17, 2019 refresh of Home Health Compare.
A total of 658 agencies earned five stars in the May refresh, compared to 512 agencies in January 2019.
While Home Health Compare is typically updated quarterly in April, the refresh for the second quarter of 2019 happened several weeks later than normal this year.
The delay was due to a series of software updates to the Home Health Compare website, according to CMS.
Number of agencies by quality of care star rating
CMS data show 658 agencies nationwide earned five stars in the ratings system involving quality of care, according to the ratings released May 17, 2019. That’s an increase of 146 agencies from January 2019.
