CMS continues to work diligently to retool the development of a hospice assessment tool. This includes holding open door forums to discuss the project and seek feedback.

The next open door forum will be held 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. EST June 12.

“The purpose of a hospice assessment tool is to develop a tool that enables CMS and hospices to understand the care needs of people through the dying process and to ensure the safety and comfort of individuals enrolled in hospice institutions nationwide,” according to CMS. “The [forum] will provide a status update and welcomes your questions.”

Learn more about the tool at https://go.cms.gov/2KMOl7X. Send questions and feedback to HospiceAssessment@cms.hhs.gov.

Participate in the forum by calling (800) 837-1935 and using conference ID 9490006.
