CMS has corrected an issue that was impacting HIPAA Eligibility Transaction System (HETS) Medicare secondary payer data received from the common working file.
Because there were missing data, CMS warned the issue could cause some claims to edit for Medicare secondary payer.
An alert about the problem was issued on Nov. 6 and a fix was scheduled a few days later. The fix included an update to ensure that all current Medicare secondary payer data would be available in HETS.
The data changes were made on Nov. 19 and HETS is now returning current MSP data, according to CMS.
