Cost report deadlines extended by CGS and NGS

Cost report deadlines have been extended for Medicare Administrative Contractors CGS and NGS.

With the coronavirus (COVID-19) Public Health Emergency (PHE), CMS gave instructions for CGS to suspend requests for documentation for the following Medicare cost report activities:

For NGS, the Dec. 31, 2019, cost report now has a deadline that has been extended from June 1, 2020, until August 31, 2020. The January 31, 2020 cost report, with an original due date of June 30, 2020, has been extended until August 31, 2020; and the February 29, 2020 cost report deadline has been changed from July 31, 2020 to September 30, 2020.
