Renewed ABN deadline expanded due to COVID-19

The deadline for use of the renewed Advanced Beneficiary Notice (ABN), Form CMS-R-131 (exp. 6/30/2023) will be extended due to COVID-19. Starting on January 1, 2021, the renewed ABN will be mandatory for use, according to CMS. The renewed form may be used prior to the mandatory deadline.
