A western Massachusetts home health agency will pay more than $85,000, including $77,000 in restitution to 79 employees, to settles allegations that the company failed to pay workers for travel time, according to a June 14 news release from Mass. Attorney General Maura Healey.
The AG’s office issued two citations against Compassionate Healthcare Systems LLC for allegedly failing to pay the proper overtime rates and untimely payment of wages for not paying employees for the time between job sites, according to the release.
Under the state wage and hour laws, employees are required to be paid for all working time, including any time spent traveling from one place to another after the beginning of or before the close of the workday, the release noted.
