Five home health measures will be removed from Care Compare in late July 2021. CMS issued a reminder to providers during the open door forum June 30, 2021.
The measures to be removed from public reporting on Care Compare include one outcome measure:
- Improvement in status of surgical wounds
Along with four process measures:
- Depression Assessment Conducted
- Diabetic Foot Care and Patient/Caregiver Education Implemented during All Episodes of Care
- Multifactor Fall Risk Assessment Conducted for All Patients who Can Ambulate
- Pneumococcal Polysaccharide Vaccine Ever Received
During the call, CMS also alerted agencies to plans for a webinar in late July on interim OASIS guidance. In the 2022 proposed rule released Monday, June 28, 2021, CMS announced it plans to move ahead with implementing OASIS-E in January 2023.
