Home health care services added an estimated 3,400 jobs in July, as the healthcare sector overall added 70,000 jobs in the month, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).
The latest report puts home health jobs at more than 1.57 million, compared to nearly 1.55 million reported in February 2020, before the pandemic caused sharp drops in jobs.
The results in July represent a modest increase compared to recent months, with 11,000 jobs added in June (according to updated BLS data), 7,100 jobs in April, 6,500 in March, and 16,500 in February.
For the month of July, the labor market experienced a boom and total nonfarm payroll employment rose by 528,000 jobs.
