As expected, HHS has extended the COVID-19 public health emergency until at least the second week of April.
This keeps most of the COVID-19 waivers in place.
Last year, CMS announced a schedule for rolling back those waivers, with some ending at the time the PHE ends, some ending within a few weeks and some ending at the end of the calendar year that the PHE ends.
Agencies will be looking for signs in February to see if the PHE is nearing its end. HHS has said it will provide states a 60-days notice before ending the PHE.
