Home health adds 100,000 jobs in past 12 months

Home health care services have added roughly 100,000 jobs in the past year, according to the latest estimates from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).

In August, the sector added 11,200 jobs, bringing the total number of jobs in the sector to more than 1.64 million, compared to just under 1.54 million reported in August 2022.

In August, health care added 71,000 jobs, following a gain of similar magnitude in the prior month, according to BLS.

Over the month, job growth continued in ambulatory health care services (+40,000), nursing and residential care facilities (+17,000), and hospitals (+15,000).
