Home health care services adds 6,400 jobs in September

Employers in home health care services added 6,400 jobs in September as the health care sector overall added nearly 41,000 jobs for the month.

Health care employment continued to grow, but at a slower pace compared to the average monthly gain of 53,000 over the past 12 months, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).

That brings the total number of jobs in the sector to 1.643 million, compared to 1.547 million reported in September 2022.

Over the month, job growth continued in ambulatory health care services (+24,300), nursing and residential care facilities (+8,200), and hospitals (+8,400).
