The House Energy and Commerce Committee will hold a Health Subcommittee hearing on long-term care workforce, focusing on proposed rules around nursing home staffing levels and wages for home care workers under Medicaid Home and Community-Based Services.
In announcing the hearing, Committee Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers, R-Wa., and Subcommittee on Health Chair Brett Guthrie, R-Ky., noted they have “heard concerns in our communities that the administration's recently proposed nursing home ratio rule and so-called access rule will force facilities to close their doors and jeopardize patient care.”
The subcommittee hearing to discuss how proposed regulations on the health care work force could affect access to care will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2023, and will be live streamed online at https://energycommerce.house.gov/.
