Employers in home health care services added 9,500 jobs in October as the health care sector showed resilience as other areas of the economy saw slowing job growth heading into the fall.
Overall, health care added 58,400 jobs, up from 48,000 added the previous month, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). That brings the total number of jobs in home health at nearly 1.66 million, compared to 1.55 million reported in October 2022.
Other notable health care settings included 18,000 jobs in hospitals, 12,600 jobs in physician’s offices and 8,000 in nursing and residential care facilities.
