Hospice providers continue to show improvement on publicly reported Hospice Item Set (HIS) measures, according to the latest publicly reported data on Care Compare, released Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2024.
The updated data includes Hospice Item Set results from October 2022 to September 2023.
On the HIS composite measure, the average score nationally has climbed to 91.7%, up from 91% a year ago and 90.5% in August 2022.
Of the seven HIS measures, hospice providers nationally saw improvement on “Beliefs/Values Addressed,” “Pain Screening,” “Pain Assessment” and “Dyspnea Treatment.”
Other publicly reported quality measures will be updated with the November refresh.
