Home-based services leads health care job growth in September

Home health care services added 12,700 jobs in September, leading all health care sectors.

The new data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) showed hospitals adding 11,500 jobs, nursing facilities adding 9,400 jobs and outpatient care centers adding 5,300 jobs.

Overall, the BLS estimates home health care services include more than 1.79 million jobs, adding 142,500 jobs over the past year.
