Hospice agencies can now access updated CAHPS Hospice survey instruments based on requirements finalized in the hospice final rule last July. 
 
Providers can expect to find a revised item set among the survey changes, with four new questions and 12 updated measures. The update also introduces a web-mail version of the assessment and updated guidance on survey timelines and communication with caregivers. 
 
Implementation of the modified assessment is set to begin with April 2025 decedents.
