Home health care services added 7,600 jobs in the month of August. That’s down from the 13,000 added in July, but an improvement on the 5,500 jobs reported in August 2024.
 
That’s based on estimates released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) on Friday, Sept. 5, 2025.
 
Health care employers added 30,600 jobs overall in August, with 9,100 added in physicians' offices and 9,100 added in hospitals, along with another 7,600 added in skilled nursing facilities.
 
Overall, home health care services include nearly 1.82 million workers, compared to 1.76 million reported this time last year.
