U.S. News and World Report is getting ready to shine a light on the top home health agencies in the country with a new Best Home Health rating coming in early 2026.
The ratings will use publicly reported Home Health Quality Reporting Program data and HHCAHPS survey scores to determine ratings, according to a news release. U.S. News already provides evaluations of Best Nursing Homes and Best Hospitals for Rehabilitation.
Similar to Care Compare, U.S. News results for Best Nursing Home include detailed regional comparisons of providers. A user can put in their zip code and quickly get a list of local nursing homes that includes their overall rating for short-term rehab and long-term care.
“U.S. News’ inaugural Best Home Health ratings are a vital extension of our mission to provide consumers with the data they need to navigate complex health care decisions,” said Sumita Singh, executive vice president and general manager of Health at U.S. News. “Choosing the right home health provider is crucial for a successful recovery, and with more than three million patients each year turning to home health agencies, this new analysis offers a much-needed, independent view of quality to prioritize patient outcomes and experience for a predominantly senior population.”
