May was another surprisingly strong month for hiring in home health care services, with the setting leading all health care sectors for the month, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).
Home health care added 10,900 new jobs in May. That’s off just slightly from the updated April figure of 11,800 jobs added. By comparison, hospitals added just 6,000 jobs in May, while physicians' offices added just 4,700 jobs.
Overall, the BLS reports 1.88 million jobs in home health care services.
