The direct cost per visit for skilled nursing decreased to $87 per visit in 2014, compared with $90 per visit in 2013, according to the Financial Monitor, a benchmarking service of Simione Healthcare Consultants, Hamden, Conn. Other disciplines also were less costly for agencies, including social workers ($127 compared with $144).
