Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC) CGS has warned home health agencies that "it is likely" than more than five claims for many agencies will be caught up in CMS' ongoing probe-and-educate review.

"During a nightly system cycle, it is likely that more than five of your claims will suspend in status/location S B6001 to request MR ADR documentation for this probe review," CGS says. "CGS will work to release claims suspended in S B6001, in excess of the five claims."

As a result, CGS recommends agencies wait a day or two before responding to medical record additional documentation requests for claims that remain in status/location S B6001.
