CMS is accepting nominations for a technical expert panel to refine a cross-setting quality measure involving the percentage of residents/patients with "new or worsened pressure ulcers" in post-acute care facilities.

The posting closes June 10.

In a June 7 release, CMS said it has contracted with RTI International and Abt Associates to refine the measure for home health agencies, inpatient rehab facilities, skilled nursing facilities and long-term care facilities.

The panel of about 10 people will provide recommendations to CMS about the measure. The panel “will receive materials to inform its recommendation, including recent analyses of this measure’s performance and potential updates to the measure specifications and risk adjustment models,” CMS says in a release.

Those interested can learn more about the panel at http://go.cms.gov/1xXlUmW.

They should email materials to lfree@rti.org.
