Non-skilled, in-home supports will be allowed as a Medicare Advantage benefit starting in 2019.

The benefit change comes as part of a final rule issued April 2, 2018. CMS has not previously allowed this type of supplemental benefit under Medicare Advantage.

The change is one that was met with enthusiasm by private duty home care providers when it was first proposed in February.
