The next ICD-10 Coordination and Maintenance Committee meeting to discuss proposed modifications to ICD-10 diagnosis and procedure codes will be held March 5 and 6, according to a Feb. 5 Federal Register post from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
 
These committee’s meetings occur annually in March and September. Code changes that occur as a result of the March meeting wouldn’t be expected to take effect until Oct. 1, 2020.
 
The meeting is open to the public and will be held 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST March 5 and 6 in CMS’ auditorium at 7500 Security Blvd. in Baltimore. The meeting also will be webcast at http://www.cms.gov/live/.
 
Among the ICD-10-CM topics on the tentative agenda:
  • Babesiosis;
  • Congenital vascular hematomas and hemangiomas;
  • Corneal dystrophy;
  • Macular hole expansion;
  • Osteopenia of hip;
  • Sjogren’s;
  • Social determinants of health; and
  • Unspecified use of alcohol or cocaine with withdrawal.
