CMS has posted two job aids to help agencies ensure they’re submitting all the information necessary for pre-claim reviews during the review choice demonstration.

One is a pre-claim review initial checklist.

The other is a pre-claim review subsequent episode checklist.

The checklists are valuable tools for agencies to use to document whether information they’re submitting is present, says Joe Osentoski, Troy, Mich.-based reimbursement recovery & appeals director for Quality in Real Time (QIRT).

But the checklists don’t help when it comes to determining the quality of that documentation, Osentoski says.
