$100 billion is being distributed by the Trump Administration to health care providers due to the signing of the bipartisan Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act to provide some relief to those on the frontline of the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to an April 22 release posted on the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services website, through allocating these funds, “the Administration is working to address both the economic harm across the entire health care system due to the stoppage of elective procedures, and addressing the economic impact on providers incurring additional expenses caring for COVID-19 patients.” They are hoping to do so as quickly and transparently as possible.
