While the focus has been on the COVID-19 vaccine shots and boosters this season, it's also time for annual flu shots.

CMS is reminding providers that reducing the spread of respiratory illness, like flu, this fall and winter is important during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Medicare Part B covers one flu shot per flu season and additional flu shots if medically necessary, CMS noted in the latest MLN Connects. Your patients pay nothing if you accept assignment.

You may give the flu and COVID-19 vaccines at the same visit as recommended by CDC and the Advisory Committee on Immunizations Practices, according to CMS.
