A Massachusetts man was sentenced to 15 months in prison and three years of supervised release after he pleaded guilty to a $400,000 Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) scheme.

Adley Bernadin, 44, used a purported home health business “La Salette,” to fraudulently apply for a PPP loan, claiming he had a monthly payroll of $175,200, according to a DOJ release.

After receiving the PPP funds, Bernadin did not use money for the purported home health care company’s business. Instead, he made mortgage payments on his home and wrote checks to individuals with whom he had a personal relationship.
