Home health care added 8,800 jobs in June, according to the latest estimates by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).
 
That brings the total number of jobs in the sector to more than 1.61 million, compared to 1.53 million reported in June 2022.
 
Overall, health care added 41,000 jobs in June, including 15,000 new jobs in hospitals and 12,000 jobs added in residential care facilities. Health care has added an average of  42,000 jobs per month thus far this year, similar to the average gain of 46,000 per month in 2022, according to the BLS.
