Georgia-based Visiting Nurse Health System has agreed to pay $104,000 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by submitting claims for services provided by an unlicensed individual.

The alleged violation was self-disclosed to the Office of Inspector General, according to a online notice.

OIG alleged that VNHS submitted claims to Medicare and Georgia Medicaid for services provided by an unlicensed registered nurse.

Single damages were calculated as the full salary and benefits paid to the nurse during the period she worked without a valid license.
