Home health care services added 5,500 jobs in August, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

That’s a strong number when you consider hospitals only added a total of 9,600 jobs. Some health care settings reported decreases in total jobs, including skilled nursing facilities.

Home health care has slightly more than 1.78 million jobs overall. A year ago, that number was 1.64 million.
