Make sure you are putting your final processes in place for OASIS collection, regardless of the payor. This will be mandatory July 1, 2025.

Agencies will be expected to submit OASIS data for patients from any payor source who are not exempt from OASIS data collection (patients under 18, receiving maternity services, or receiving only personal care, housekeeping or chore services).

The data collection and submission for all payors has been voluntary since Jan. 1, 2025. Agencies will be required to submit data for all qualifying patients with an OASIS start of care M0090 date on or after July 1, 2025.

As a reminder regarding patient disclosures, CMS previously announced that agencies should no longer provide patients with Attachment C — Notice About Privacy for Patients Who Don’t Have Medicare or Medicaid.

CMS says it will monitor the all-payor OASIS data and will notify providers when decisions are made for future uses for quality or payment purposes. CMS has not announced if, when or how non-Medicare/non-Medicaid data will be used for Home Health Value-Based Purchasing.
