A Michigan-based home health agency will pay $334,807 to settle allegations that it violated the False Claims Act, according to the Department of Justice.

M&Y Care of West Bloomfield, Mich., is accused of billing Medicare and Medicaid programs for the more expensive home health aide services, using code G0156, when the services actually should have been billed as non-skilled care. The period of improper billing was from 2015 through 2023, according to the DOJ.

The case involved a whistleblower, the DOJ noted, and that private party can receive a portion of any funds recovered.
