A Michigan agency has agreed to pay $379,000 for allegedly violating the Civil Monetary Penalties Law by submitting claims for services provided by an unlicensed nurse, according to an alert from the HHS Office of Inspector General (OIG) on June 26, 2026.

Residential Home Health of Troy, Michigan, self-disclosed the conduct, the OIG stated. The agency entered into the $379,048.95 settlement agreement.

Single damages were calculated as the full salary and benefits paid to the nurse during the period they worked without a valid license.
