In comments about the 2016 proposed hospice rule, the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC) and others expressed concern about a change in the way hospices would be paid next year and beyond. MedPAC wants add-on payments to be given to hospices providing care in nursing facilities — just like in other locations.

About 65% of agencies planned to begin ICD-10 training for non-coders (including clinicians, intake staff and others) at their agencies by the end of the June, according to the 212 respondents to a question on HHL's April 2015 ICD-10 preparedness survey. Nearly a quarter of agencies will begin training next quarter.
