Start preparing your agency now to comply with the revamped conditions of participation (CoPs) that CMS released Oct. 6. The federal Medicare agency’s proposal is expected to remain largely intact when finalized, the National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC) advised agencies during an Oct. 9 teleconference. As a result, NAHC says, agencies shouldn’t wait to prepare until CMS finalizes the rule and shouldn’t wait for surveyors to be trained to investigate the revamped CoPs.
