A federal court has sentenced the owner of three Ohio-based home health companies to 42 months in prison and ordered her to pay $5.7 million in restitution related to a Medicaid fraud case, according to the Ohio Attorney General’s (AG) Office.

Sally Njume-Tatsing was sentenced April 8, 2025, after she was convicted in September 2024 on one count of health care fraud and 12 counts of making false health care statements.

Njume-Tatsing previously owned home healthcare businesses in Reynoldsburg, Mt. Vernon and Parma, Ohio but lived primarily in California, the Ohio AG release notes. While she was not directly involved in the organizations’ daily operations, she submitted each agency’s billing to Medicaid.

“While billing Medicaid for health aide services to individuals in their homes, the defendant inflated the hours of services provided, billed for registered nurses when licensed practical nurses completed the care, and billed for care for patients who were either deceased or ineligible to receive Medicaid,” the release states.
