A New Hampshire home health agency has agreed to pay $100,000 to resolve a dispute over Medicaid documentation, according to the New Hampshire Attorney General’s office.

In May 2022, the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services’ Administrative Appeals Unit upheld an audit that found Maxim Healthcare Services had provided insufficient documentation, resulting in a $28,269.50 repayment.

The state alleges that Maxim continued to document services in the same insufficient manner. To resolve the issue and avoid further legal action, Maxim has agreed to pay an additional $100,000 to the State, on top of the $28,269.50 previously ordered. Maxim has also committed to improving its compliance by enhancing its electronic visit verification (EVV) technology.
