Employers in home health care services added an estimated 15,100 jobs in January, part of a surprising spike in hiring across many sectors.
 
That’s up from 9,100 home health care services jobs added in December (adjusted up from what was reported in early January). The 12-month average is 7,442, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).
 
Overall, health care added 70,300 jobs in January, with 20,400 jobs added in hospitals and 16,500 added in nursing and residential care facilities.
 
Home health care services now account for 1.69 million jobs.
